What you can ask Codex

Release thread from the changelog

“Read CHANGELOG.md and turn the v2.4 entry into a four-post X thread for tomorrow at 09:00.”

Share a demo video on LinkedIn

“Upload dist/demo.mp4 and post it on LinkedIn with a short summary of v2.4, Wednesday at 10:00.”

For local files, connect the skill or local MCP server.

Explain the change behind the release

“Read the diff for the new bulk import feature. Write a LinkedIn post showing what users can do now, include a concrete before-and-after example and schedule it for Monday at 10:00.”

Check launch performance

“How did our last three release announcements perform on X and LinkedIn?”

Share an integration people can try

“Use the new integration’s README to write posts for Bluesky and Threads. Include one setup example and the docs link, check the platform requirements and schedule both tomorrow at 11:00.”

Avoid announcing the release twice

“Check dopost for published or scheduled posts about v2.4 before creating another announcement. List any matches with their status and account.”

Copy the URL printed in the terminal into your browser, finish the sign-in, then run codex mcp list to confirm dopost is authenticated.

The agent cannot create threads, replies or network options

Can I review content before scheduling?

You can ask the agent to show you the content before scheduling it.

Will my posts publish after I close the agent?

Yes. Once scheduled, dopost stores them in your calendar and publishes them at the specified time.
