How to convert a YouTube Short

Links copied from the YouTube app and browser are supported, including youtube.com/shorts and youtu.be URLs.

1. Open the Short, tap Share and copy its link.
2. Paste the URL above, then choose MP4 video or MP3 audio.
3. Pick an available quality and press Download to save the file.

Download a Short as MP4 video

MP4 keeps the vertical video and its audio together in a format supported by common phones, computers and media players. The quality menu only shows resolutions found in the original Short. Choose a compact option for quick transfers or a higher resolution when you need more visual detail.

Convert YouTube Shorts to MP3

Select MP3 when you only need the sound from a Short you own or have permission to use. You can choose 128, 192 or 320 kbps. The output bitrate changes the resulting file size, but the original Short still determines the real sound quality.

Use the Shorts downloader on mobile or desktop

The converter runs in Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge without an extension. On iPhone, downloads are usually available from Safari's download list and the Files app. On Android and desktop, the file normally appears in the Downloads folder unless you choose another location.

If a YouTube Short cannot be downloaded

Make sure the Short is public and the copied link includes the full video ID. Private, deleted, restricted or region-blocked Shorts cannot always be processed. If preparation stops, paste the URL again and select another available quality.

Save and reuse Shorts responsibly

Download Shorts you created or have permission to use. Saving a public Short does not transfer ownership or publishing rights. Check the creator's license before editing, reposting or using its audio in another social media post.
